So, after joining the clan today I thought it would be nice to say hello and talk a bit about myself.

Im 26 years old (which seems to mean something like grandpa in some FPS^^). I'm german and, surprise surprise, I live in germany, in Bochum. I moved here after finishing my Bachelor of Arts (major subject was Philosophy) in Freiburg. I moved here with my girlfriend, we wanted to make sure we can stay together for our Master-studies and as I said in another thread, she dumped me some weeks ago, so I live in my own little appartment now and it feels awesome...even without a bed. xD But bed is coming soon...couch+computer....+kitchen+...maybe bath...what do you need more.^^
Ah realname is Alex, if someone don't like Silchas in TS or so feel free to use Alex instead.

Hobbies: I'm reading much (some philosophy as expected and a lot of fantasy and sci-fi, mostly in english these days) and I'm a huge movie and tv-series fan. My taste in music is built around rock and a bunch of metal, from heavy to thrash to death. But I like a lot of other music too, it mostly depends on the song...except maybe rap and electro which I like mostly don't like.

Now to the game. I'm playing Combat Arms for about 3 months now..give or take. At the moment I'm playing a bit of civ 5 and starcraft 2, too...but not very much. Nonetheless I really like watching pro mathces in starcraft2, it's very entretaining and fun.

my favorite maps are Waverider, ghost town, sand hog and a bit of warhead. I played nearly exclusivly elimination until now, but I'm looking forward to get into SnD with you guys.

Primary weapon is G36 and I used Dragunov sniper very much as backpack weapon, because you often need a sniper, but at the same time I'm not really good with it, so I needed a gun to fire a couple of times with before going out of scope.

Since it's late and I had a long day, I stop here because I have no idea what more to say, that's at the same time interesting and/or in the slightest informative about me.^^ So just feel free to ask if you want to know something.

And excuse me, if I'm kind of a much-writing guy...as I said I'm studying philosophy and there you got writing much beaten into you.


PS: as soon as I find my crapy old cam in the chaos that is the leftovers from moving in here, you get a picture in the picture thread... if you can handle the heat. XD

@crilleman: No, I took the couch with me, so thats how I sleep.^^ I could have taken the bed, but it had an ironframe with some floral pattern...so nothing I would want for myself.

I highly recommand 1 book if you indeed like reading ... I am also reading it atm

Thanks a lot for the pdf! I heard a lot about the art of war, but never read it. If you're interested in that kind of books, I would recommend the hagakure written by Yamamoto. It's one of the basics of the code of honor of the samurai. Some parts of it seem no longer useful today but there are parts which I really liked and tried to incorporate in my everday life.
(For example: If it starts raining and everybody is running for shelter, don't do it. Just keep on going like you did before the rain, because you're going to be wet anyway, so at least keep youre dignity intact by not running around like stupid)

and about maturity...well...sometimes more, sometimes less xD

Of course I know homerj..."fleischpeitsche" ftw. XD
But actually I prefer the english casters, especially Day[9] and the commentators for the GSL, tastosis.

And it's the same for me... I really like Starcraft2 and think it's an awesome game...but I totally suck at it. Nonetheless it's fun to watch the games of the pros, like in GSL.
